Foss Creek Clean-Up

The Clean Up

For several years, the City of Healdsburg along with a group of wonderful sponsors, host the Foss Creek Clean-Up. This event provides an opportunity for residents to participate in the maintenance and protection of our very important waterways. Foss Creek is an important tributary of the Russian River and serves as a home to protected species. In addition, the creek diverts stormwater runoff from the City of Healdsburg.

As in year’s past, the volunteer event will begin and end in West Plaza Park near the fountain. Kiwanis will provide a pancake breakfast for volunteers before they set off to complete their clean-up projects. Once completed, all volunteers will return to West Plaza Park for a BBQ lunch provided by Rotary and an Awards Ceremony.

The Fair

This year, we will be expanding the event to incorporate a fair to offer activities for the volunteers as well as draw additional community members. The event and fair are meant to foster excitement and support for community events and the importance of healthy and sustainable living. Booths will include: City Departments; local businesses; vendors focused on stormwater, conservation, health, community involvement, etc; and community organizations whose purpose are in line with these.

We are excited that the fair will be collocated in West Plaza Parking Lot with the Healdsburg Farmer’s Market, who continues to demonstrate and allow community access to local and sustainable products.
