In 2022, City of Healdsburg energy efficiency programs helped customers save 180 Megawatt-hours (MWh) of electricity. That’s enough electricity to power 17 average U.S. homes for a year!
Over their lifetime, the projects from 2022 will save 2,388 MWh, 21,086 natural gas therms, and 861 greenhouse gas tons.
Most of the 2022 savings (93%) came from commercial projects switching large warehouse lighting to LEDs. The remaining savings came from residential (6%) and low-income residential (1%) programs, including heat pump HVAC systems, smart thermostats, appliance upgrades, increased insulation, and more.
In 2023, our goal is 353 MWh. City Council recently approved new commercial and residential energy programs, such as heat pump water heaters, switching to electric stoves, commercial kitchen equipment, and more. The new rebate forms are available at smartlivinghealdsburg.org. As a Publicly Owned Utility (POU), City of Healdsburg looks forward to continuing to serve the community with energy efficiency programs.
