The Housing Element Work Group (HEWG) was established by the City Council on June 7, 2021, pursuant to Government Code 65583(c)(7), specifically to guide the development of the 6th Cycle Housing Element for the City of Healdsburg. The formation of the HEWG, with its broad membership, ensured the inclusion of diverse community perspectives, making the development process of the Housing Element comprehensive and reflective of the city's wide-ranging housing needs.
Following the completion of the 6th Cycle Housing Element, which was certified by the State Department of Housing and Community Development on June 29, 2023, the HEWG's mandate has been extended. The City Council, through Resolution 171-2022, tasked the HEWG with continuing to address complex housing issues identified during the development of the City's Housing Element including:
- Downtown Housing Capacity
