US 101- Dry Creek Road Interchange Project

Description:

The US 101/Dry Creek Road Interchange project will provide intersection improvements at the Dry Creek Road and US 101 interchange by constructing either interconnected traffic signals or two roundabouts at the ramp intersections. The project will also construct new sidewalk, improved bike facilities along the corridor and ADA-compliant curb ramps and pedestrian push buttons at the Dry Creek Road and Grove Street intersection. These improvements will improve traffic operations, bicycle and pedestrian connectivity, safety, and access underneath US 101.

The Dry Creek Road corridor from the western City limits to Healdsburg Avenue is one of the busiest locations in the City.  In 2020, as an interim improvement to reduce delays, east and westbound STOP signs were added at the southbound on/off ramp intersection and Dry Creek Road was widened to add left turn lanes for both the northbound and southbound ramp access. The interim improvements reduced traffic backups, however peak hour delays are still excessive.

The first step in the Project is the preparation of a Project Initiation Document (PID), followed by project approval and environmental document, design of plans specifications and estimate, right-of-way, then construction.
